What a cover-up entails

Regret fades faster than ink — a good cover-up makes the old tattoo disappear inside a new design, not buried under a black box. We study your existing piece: its darkness, colors, scarring and placement. Then we design around it, using darker values, texture and movement to absorb the old lines.

Honesty comes first: some pieces need 1–2 laser-fading sessions before they can be covered well. If yours is one of them, we will say so and refer you to a trusted clinic — then design the piece waiting on the other side.

FAQs
Can any tattoo be covered?

Almost — but the cover must be larger and darker than the original. Heavy black or dense scar tissue may need laser fading first; we assess every piece in person.

Will the old tattoo show through?

A well-engineered cover hides the old piece in the design's shadows and texture. Ghost lines can surface as it heals — the finishing pass takes care of them.

Is laser or cover-up better?

Cover-up is faster and ends with art you love. Laser is slower and costlier but frees placement entirely. Often the best answer is one fading round, then a cover.
