Samurai Legacy
Courage, loyalty and wind — a back piece in the irezumi tradition.
Overview
Our client asked for a tribute to his grandfather — a man who lived by quiet discipline. Yuki chose the samurai: courage worn on the back, where the wearer cannot see it but everyone else can. Peonies for prosperity and wind bars to carry the eye across the shoulders complete the classical arrangement.
The approach
Eight full-day sessions over eleven months, in classical order: full outline first, then the wind-and-cloud background, then shading and finish. Each layer healed completely before the next, so the blacks settled deep and even.
